CCAYR - January - Starts with 'A' or 'B'

Hello there!  Happy New Year!  It's time for another wonderful challenge over on the Christmas Crafts All Year Round blog.  Our theme this month is Starts with 'A' or 'B'.

It was my first time to play with the Tim Holtz Deck the Halls dies.  I'm not going to lie-- it was a challenge.  You will need 3 shades of red for the ribbon and 3 shades of green for the leaves.  You also need to cut two of everything for the leaves to end up with the four leaves like I have it here.  And also you will need to cut the berry stems more than once and the berries more than once.

Supplies:
Tim Holtz - Stacked Deckle die
Tim Holtz - Deck the Halls, Colorize die
Tim Holtz - Holiday Words - Script
My Mind's Eye - Cozy Christmas - book paper
Glossy Accents + Distress Stickles - on berries
pop dots

MIU #45- Bleaching

Hello there!  Happy New Year!  It's time for another wonderful challenge over on the Mix it Up blog.  Our theme this month is Bleaching.

I started by ink blending the background with Broken China Distress ink.  Then I stamped the image in Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then heat set it.  I used a waterbrush to wet parts of the flowers and then I blotted the water/ink off with a paper towel.  I added some stitching and some splatters to finish it off.

Supplies:
Distress ink - Broken China
Distress oxide - Hickory Smoke -splatters
Unity Stamp Co - My Condolences stamp kit
waterbrush
Versamark ink
Ranger white embossing pwd + heat tool
Misti
Singer Sewing machine -Zig zag stitch and straight stitch
