Hello there!  It's time for the reminder post over on the Christmas Crafts All Year Round blog.  Our theme this month is Christmas Tree.

I've used some Distress Oxides to create a fun background.  I've also watercolored the tree with Oxides and then cut the tree out.  I had to add some gold, silver and red Stickles.  And 'merry' in red glitter paper finishes it off.

I've created a card using the Cricut cart Suburbia.  I have had this cart for a while and this was the first time I used it.  It's really a fun cart with lots of retro images.  I love this old fashioned camera with the huge flash on the side.  I used a stencil and some embossing paste along with some spray ink to create the fun dotty background.  A film strip stamp and some stars just seemed perfect for the finishing embellishments.

Recipe:
Suburbia Cricut cart - camera @ 4"
Unity SMAK 9/17 kit - film strip stamp
Deco Art Texture paste
Distress Spray Stain - Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio

Glossy Accents
Diamond Stickles
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - stars @ 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2"
Tim Holtz - metallic alpha stickers

Your next stop is Alicia.

MIU#15 - July: Mixed Media

Hello there!  It's the start of another month and that means an amazing challenge over on the Mix It Up blog.  Our theme this month is Mixed Media.  I really had fun with this one.

I used Distress Oxides for the background.  Then I added a few spritzes of water.  I used my heat tool to dry it.  And then I added some texture paste through a stencil to give the background some more interest.  I watercolored the sea horse and the sea weed with a water brush and Distress Oxides.  Love the effect this created.

Always keep a little beach day in your heart

Hello there!  I've been playing with my Distress Oxide inks lately.  I'm obsessed.  Love the fun effects you can get by just adding water.  So cool!

I've used the Oxide ink to watercolor the stamped image, too.  Then I let it dry and then added some Ice Stickles to create an almost hidden treasure feel to the sand the wheel is stuck in under the sea.  I used Distress crayons to make the token look really old.  Fun!

I'm entering this card into the Unity Show & Tell watercolor challenge.  This is an awesome group on FB for sharing your creations using Unity Stamps.

Summer Fun!

Hello there!  I've got a simple, cute card to share with you today.  I created it and then realized the stamp kit is actually discontinued.  So that's a bummer!!

I started off using my Misti and stamping this cute image on my cardbase.  Then I used the backing from the stamp as a mask to cover the stamped image.  Then I took the stencil and Distress ink and created a pattern around the image.  It didn't look finished so I ended up adding more ink to the edges of the card.  And then I used my Zig pen and ruler to add the black frame.  Super simple and quick.

Recipe:
Unity Stamp Co - Happy to Be Me stamp kit
Tim Holtz Distress ink - Tumbled glass
Tim Holtz stencil - Bubbles
black Zig pen/ruler

Thanks for stopping by today :-)
