GIU Blog Hop

Welcome to the GIU blog hop!  You should have arrived here from Iona's blog.  If you're just now joining us you'll want to start at Amanda's blog so you don't miss a thing :-)

It's July so I've decided to go ahead and work on some more Christmas projects.  I recently saw a video where someone made a tag out of cardboard.  I loved the look of it so I used some cardboard from a box.  I cut it into a really big tag shape.  I ripped off some of the top layer to expose the corrugated parts underneath.  I applied some Gesso and used some Dylusions ink spray.  Then layered up some patterned papers and a stamped image that I colored with pencils.  I distressed the edges around the image and then inked them.  I went around the edges of the tag with some Stickles for some sparkle.  And I painted some of the edges of the patterned papers with white paint.   I added a token that I colored with Distress crayons and some white paint.  Love how this came out.  I was just playing, not sure where it was going and I ended up loving it!!

Recipe:
cardboard
gesso
Dylusions ink spray - Vibrant Turquoise

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #273

Hello there!  It's time for another wonderful sketch challenge over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge blog.  Our sketch this week:

I used a fun pineapple embossing folder and Core'dinations cardstock.  Then I sanded it to reveal a lighter color and make the pineapples pop.  I jazzed up the colored pencils by adding stickles and Glossy Accents to the drinks.  It doesn't really show up very well in the photo but the flowers and drinks look very blingy and fun...LOL!

I've created a card using the Cricut cart Suburbia.  I have had this cart for a while and this was the first time I used it.  It's really a fun cart with lots of retro images.  I love this old fashioned camera with the huge flash on the side.  I used a stencil and some embossing paste along with some spray ink to create the fun dotty background.  A film strip stamp and some stars just seemed perfect for the finishing embellishments.

Recipe:
Suburbia Cricut cart - camera @ 4"
Unity SMAK 9/17 kit - film strip stamp
Deco Art Texture paste
Distress Spray Stain - Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio
Tim Holtz - stencils - Dot Fade, Schoolhouse

Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - stars @ 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2"
