CC Wkly Challenge #35: Patriotic Pride

This was a fun challenge and so fitting since we are sneaking up on the Fabulous 4th!!  I thought...what could be more American than good old apple pie!?  I know, right??  :-)  This was my first time using Diamond Dust on a project and I love the effect.  It's actually little bits of glass which I didn't realize until I read the label.  So cool!

Recipe:
The Paper Studio - All Seasons- red striped paper

Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart- blast (background) @ 3 1/2", apple @3/4" using roly poly feature key, sentiment @ 1/2" also using roly poly feature

From My Kitchen Cricut cart - pie @3"

Cuttlebug embossing folders - distressed stripe, Retro Kitchen set ( on pie crust)

Brown ink, white Marvy gel pen for doodles, glossy accents to adhere the Diamond Dust to the pie crust and around the apple decoration on the pie, pop dots, silver bling.

This was a fun challenge.  Who doesn't love yummy summertime sweet treats, right?!  So, all we had to do was use 2 Cricut cuts and our favorite sweet treat shape and use a stamp somewhere on the project.  I have a weakness for ice cream so that's what I went with for my card.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :-)

Impression Obsession Stamps: Let's Hear it For the Boys Challenge

The challenge is to create a manly card using IO stamps.  Since I didn't have many IO stamps suited to this type of card I just used a cool technique to accent the sentiment stamp.
Recipe:

Impression Obsession clear stamp set Spring/Summer borders CL126.  Shop online for all their awesome stamps here.

Life is a Beach Cricut cart - lifeguard chair @4"

Cuttlebug folder - Tiny bubbles

Blue ink for the edges of the card, distressed red paper with an emery board, pop dots, Zig pen for doodles.  I got the idea to curve the stamped sentiment from Maria at believe, dream, create!  Too fun!  Thanks Maria!

Good luck to all in the challenge!
