Memdex Swap

 Hello!  I was in a memdex swap recently.  We could pick the theme.  The partners were assigned in secret.  This is the cutie that I came up with.  My first project with the Tim Holtz bunnies from this year.  Love them so much!

MCCR - Festive Friday

Hello!  The projects today are all about BBQ's or picnics.  I have a banner to share today.  I will be using this over the Memorial day holiday as well as 4th of July.
I matched up the stripes on the banner background with the stripes on the letters 's' & 'a'.

I sewed the buttons on using Sew Easy floss in hot tamale, pop dots, Oriental Trading Co buttons, The Paper Studio- Natural Fibers trim, glue dots to hold the trim in place.

MCCR Theme Day Thursday- Anything Purple

Hello!  Today's projects are all about the color purple.  I had fun with this one!  I recently picked up the Rock Princess cart.  Now my only question is-- how did I not have this cart before now?  LOL!  It's super cute!!

Back-to-School Mini Album :-)

Hello!!  My little girl is in 1st grade this year.  Today is back-to-school for her.  I thought I would share this mini album of her Kinder year that I worked on throughout the summer.  I like how it came out :-)  Lots of pics to share!!
 The apple was cut in half after I covered both sides with paper :-)

 




I wanted to include her current handwriting :-)



The banner says 'Kinder'.  It's a bit hard to read in the pic.  I overlapped the pieces a bit to make it fit.

Recipe:
The Paper Studio - School Days stack - all patterned papers

Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - apple @ 7" (roly poly feature used)
Elegant Edges Cricut cart - bird2 @5", swirl1 @5, circles @5, diamonds @5 (using book feature)
My Community Cricut cart - bank @9" (i thought it looked like an old schoolhouse)

I used cereal boxes for the pages.  Use a deep cut blade @6, max pressure, low speed and multi @3.  When cutting your paper to cover these pages remember to cut the back sides using the flip feature so it will fit right :-)

CC Magazine Challenge: Dress Up a Cricut Collectible

Aloha!  This was such a fun project to work on.  I used the pink Cricut figure and turned her into a Hawaiian surfer girl.  I used sand that I brought back from one of our trips to Mexico :-)

O Christmas Tree

I had fun making this inked, distressed Christmas card.  The color palette isn't your normal Christmas red and green either so it's a bit different.  I do like how it came out :-)

Cricut 360 Challenge #3: For Your Parents

In honor of parents day next week this challenge was to create a project for them.  This idea came to me as I was searching through my clear stamps the other day (for a different project I was working on at the time :-).  Once I saw the stamp I knew what I wanted to create for this special card.

Graduation Card & Envelope

This card is for my niece, Emmalyn who just graduated college with a degree in nursing.  Yay!!  Her mom is a nurse, too!!

Just a note--the envelope seemed a bit small once I got the card together.  I think next time I will cut the envelope a bit bigger :-)

This is the card I created for my mom.  I love how it turned out!!

5" square Kraft card base.

My Mind's Eye - Simply Delightful stack - patterned papers

MS Seasonal Cake Art Cricut cart- heart doily cut @4 1/4"
MS All Ocassion Cake Cricut cart- butterflies @3/4", flower2 @1 3/4", 1 1/2", 1 1/4", 3/4"
Plantin Schoolbook - mom @1 1/4"

Brown ink, pink pearl bling by Recollections, pink brad from Oriental Trading Co, lace trim from HL, Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer spray in Sparkle, pop dots for dimension.

I cut 3 layers of the letters in Kraft and glued them together to form chipboard.  The final top layer I cut in the patterned polka dot paper.  I'm sure I remember seeing this technique on the Cricut Circle blog on one of the DT's amazing projects--so thank you for this great idea.

I used the same technique as described above to create a chipboard look for the frame and the letter 'M'.

CC May Monthly Challenge: Tic Tac Toe

Use the chart below and combine three elements in a row-tic tac toe style on the project and include 2 Cricut cuts.


I created a card with the middle row across ric rac, ruffle, and bird shape.  I love how it turned out!
Recipe:
5" Kraft card base

DCWV - The Christmas Combo - brown patterned papers (using up scraps from the holidays :-)
Core'dinations - Cherry Cordial

MS All Ocassion Cake Cricut cart- cream frame @4 1/2", banner @1" and ! @ 1/2"
Simply Charmed Cricut cart - bird @2" using flip feature

Cuttlebug folders - swiss dot, birds & swirls

Brown ink, brown lace trim, The Paper Studio -spare parts ruffled ribbon, ric rac ribbon from Oriental Trading Co, square brown brads, pop dots for dimension. 

I sanded the embossed bird to allow the core color to show through.  I inked and distress the red side of the core paper.  I also applied brown ink with a makeup sponge to the ric rack to change it from cranberry to a red to match my project better.  I did the same thing with the primary red, ruffled ribbon.

I made this card for my niece, Grace who is graduating high school real soon.  She is a cheerleader so I thought a banner with her name on it would be cute.  I used her school colors of white, blue and silver.  I hope she likes it!

CC Magazine: My Sweet Valentine Contest

The contest is to create something for your Valentine that involves candy. 

I really had fun creating my Valentine 'bot!!  I think she's pretty sweet :-)

MS All Ocassion Cake Cricut cart - hearts at 3 1/4" and 1/2"

Impression Obsession shaker pouch.  Organza ribbon.  Velcro sticky dot 5/8".  Creatology wiggle eyes.  Hershey's kisses.

I cut the heart opening for the shaker effect with an exacto knife.  I left the back panel open to get to the candy :-)  It's hard to see in the photo but I put a velcro sticky dot inside the back panel toward the bottom edge.

January Monthly Challenge: Scraplift a CIRCLE blog project

Requirements for this challenge are:


  • Use 2 or more Cricut Cuts on the project.


  • Use a project you have seen on the Cricut Circle Blog as inspiration for your project.

  • Use products from at least two of our Sponsors




  • I chose to scraplift a birthday card designed by Sarah Martina Parker.  It was featured on the Circle blog on January 19th.  I still like her card better...lol  :-)

    I created the background paper by using Tattered Angels -Glimmer Mist in pink bubblegum by just spraying it on a sheet of white cardstock.
