My Cricut Craft Room October Blog Hop!!

Hello! Welcome to the My Cricut Craft Room October Blog Hop!  You should have hopped on over from Viv's blog.  If you're just joining us you'll want to start over at the My Cricut Craft Room blog so you don't miss a thing.

Okay, first up are two birthday cards that I made for twin boys that recently turned 6.  I wanted these cards to be similar but also different.  The boys are not identical so I wanted their cards that were included with their gifts to be different, too.

Recipe:

DCWV - The Handy Dandy stack - green patterned paper
DCWV - Stack 5- blue plaid

Pop dots, pearl bling, Glossy Accents to make the dog tags shiny.

And my dad celebrated 70 years this summer!!

Happy Birthday!

Hello!  It's my Father-in-law's birthday and he's turning 75!  I wanted to do something fun and different!  So, I used a z-fold card base for my card.  I've never done a card like this before and I think it turned out pretty cool :-)  His surprise party is next weekend and there will be an ice cream bar to build your own.  He loves ice cream so that's what I went with, too!   I hope he likes it!
Recipe:

For the base of the card I started with a 11x 4 1/4" piece of white cardstock.  With the long side horizontal score at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2".  Accordin fold to make a z-fold card.  Yup, it's just that easy!  And the best part--once folded this will fit your standard A2 size envelope :-)

DCWV -Cafe Mediterranean Stack - all patterned papers

Robotz  Cricut cart-  '75' @2 1/2" (font feature)
Nifty Fifties Cricut cart - Ice cream @ 4", '&' and the arrow @ 1"

White pen for doodles, Glossy Accents on the ice cream, brown Zig pen for doodles on the cone, pop dots, sentiment is from the Fiskars stamp set Make a Wish Quotes...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today :-)

Charms for a bracelet :-)

I decided to try making a charm bracelet.  These are for my  husbands two god daughters.  I used Shrink Film in bright colors.  I really wanted to use pinks, black and white or grey but those colors weren't included in my package of Shrink Film.  So, I went with citrus colors.  I really had fun making these!  I hope they like them!!

Recipe:
Colored Shrink Film

Robotz Cricut cart - initials @1 3/4"
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - Image 9 @ 1 3/4" (starburst shape), Image 36 @ 1 3/4" (heart), Image9 @ 1 3/4" using the shift (starburst with the circle cut out of the middle- I even used the middle piece just for fun--small green piece)
Wedding/Marriage Cricut cart - cross @ 1 3/4"

For cutting this material with my Cricut I used settings:  Blade 6, Multi-Cut 2, Pressure 5, Speed 4.  Punch your hole before baking them.  I had my oven @300 degrees and they took about 6 min to shrink fully.  I used parchment  paper to line my cookie sheet and another piece to cover the shrink plastic piece.  As soon as I removed them from the oven I smoothed them out with the bottom of a drinking glass made of glass.  And I let the glass sit on it until it was cooled enough to touch...a few minutes.

This was my first time using the Shrink Film.  You do need to work quickly to smooth them out once they come out of the oven.  I only did a few shapes at a time...

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Holidays!

Henry's Cake

I got another chance to play with my mini Cricut cake :-)  So fun! My little man turned 4 this week.  He's growing up so fast!!  He loves dinosaurs so this is what I did.

I used Create a Critter Cricut cart to make the dinosaur.  It's cut @5".  The letters for his name are from Robotz @1".  I realized after I cut the two layers that I probably should have just cut the green layer and then layered on a few circles instead of cutting the blue layer.  Something to think about for next time....LOL!

The finished cake.  Okay, it's not super professional but my little man was very excited about it.  Made my day :-)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Robotz Cricut cart - Robot #49 cut at 11 1/2"
MS All Ocassion Cake Cricut cart - hearts at 3 1/4" and 1/2"

I made this card and box for a little girl that lives next door.  I put some hair bows and matching bracelets into the box as part of her gift.  Her party was last Saturday at The Little Gym and my kiddos had a blast.

Accent Essentials Cricut cart - scallop square @ 3 3/4", frame using shadow feature @ 3 3/4"
Robotz Cricut cart - '5' cut at 2"
I popped the frame up using dimensionals and then added the ribbons
I put Diamond Stickles around the '5' shadow for shine.

box - cut using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cart and the fit-to-pg feature with 12x24 PC paper = 3 1/2 " square box when assembled
Plantin Schoolbook cart- tag cut at 1 1/2 and 1 3/4"
Accent Essentials cart - 3" scallop squares
Robotz cart - 'V' cut at 2"

I attached ribbon to every other flower petal before assembly.

Okay, on to the blog candy!!  I've got a brand new Robotz cart I'm giving away.  Just leave me a comment to be entered for your chance to win and a way to reach you in case you're the lucky winner.  (sorry forgot to take a pic of the box). I would love it if you also became a follower but it's not required :-)

Cricut Circle: Weekly Challenge #15: Feeling Frosty!

Okay, I'm not sure I'm super excited about this card I created, but here goes...LOL!!

Rules for this challenge:
1) Use white paint
2) Use a metal item
3) Use a snowflake cut

I used snowflake cuts from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge.  The cuts were done at 3" (accent13), 1 1/2 & 1 1/4 (accent15).

I used white paint as the shadow of the largest snowflake by using the negative space from the cut as a stencil.  You can see if you look closely the edges are a little wonky (oops--I guess it's really homemade :-)  I also dabbed the paint on the purple background paper randomly for fun!

I used the Robotz cart for the font:  B=1", r=3/4" and second r=1/2".  I popped the letters up for some dimension.

Patterned paper is from DCWV Winter Wonder Stack.

Gem brads and metal snowflake brads are from Oriental Trading Co.  I also added some Diamond Stickles to make the small snowflakes sparkly.
