Happy Easter!  For our Easter basket swap we created a handmade item to include along with other scrappy goodies.  This little mini journal is for Shirley and her messageboard name is bird--so I incorporated her first initial and a cute little birdie into the cover design.  She said since she just has boys she doesn't get to create many girlie things so I'm hoping she loves this :-)

DEC 25th

This is another simple card but I love how it turned out.  I don't use plaid patterned papers much, in fact my husband wasn't too sure about this one.  Hey, at least he's honest...LOL!!

Recipe:
A2 card base in Kraft
DCWV - Christmas Combo stack - green patterned paper (leaves)
DCWV - Merry Christmas stack - all the rest of the patterned papers

Winter Woodlands Cricut cart - holly @ 3"
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - DEC @ 1/2" using Roly Poly feature, tag @ 2 3/4", '25' @ 3/4"

Brown ink for edges of cardbase and tag, red organza ribbon by Ribbon Boutique, white marvy gel pen for doodles on leaves, pop dots, grosgrain red ribbon by Basic Narrows (M's).

I cut the '25' out of the tag so it's the negative space and the ribbon behind it makes it red.  I thought this was kinda cool :-)

CC September Monthly Challenge: Window Dressing

The challenge this month is to create a project with some type of window effect and use 2 Cricut cuts.  I chose to use vellum to create my window feature on this card.
Recipe:
DCWV - Winter Wonder stack - pp with words
DCWV - Christmas Combo - dark blue patterned paper

Winter Woodlands Cricut cart - snowflake card @5 1/2", tag @ 5 1/2"

Impression Obsession stamps- Let It Snow CL195

This card was a bit of a struggle--I expected the tag to fit over the cardbase and not stick out on top.  So, I covered the space at the bottom with ribbons :-)

White ink, distress tool used on the cardbase edges, blue organza ribbon by Ribbon Boutique, white ribbon is Celebrate It (M's), fuzzy white brads are Oriental Trading Co, pop dots, glossy accents to adhere the Diamond Dust on the snowflake, frosted vellum to create the window effect, white Marvy gel pen for doodles.

Thanks for looking!  Good luck to all in the challenge!

Cricut Circle Sisters Fall Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Fall Blog Hop featuring some very talented Circle Sisters!

Okay, if you're hopping over from Tammy's blog http://www.scrapcavecreations.com/ then you are right on track.  If you've found this hop in the middle you will want to start at the beginning with Kristen's blog http://fantabulouslypink.blogspot.com/.

My five year old daughter actually inspired my project.  We were in the craft room cleaning out the closet and I found a wooden door hanger with an elf on it that says, "Santa's coming".  She colored it with markers and hung it on my door knob leading into my master bedroom.  I wanted her to wait until it was closer to the holidays but once she saw it she was having no part of it :-)

Recipe:
DCWV - Amber Autumn Stack - red & brown patterned papers

Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut cart - door hanger @ 10"
MS Seasonal Cake Art Cricut cart - acorn @ 2 1/4"  (I used the negative space), leaves border1 @ 1 1/2"
Winter Wonderland Cricut cart - 'FALL' @ 1" using the shadow

Brown ink for the edges, pop dots, glossy accents to give the letters some shine, ribbons by The Ribbon Boutique.

So, who wants CANDY????  Leave me a comment for the goodies in the photo below and I'll pick a random winner on Tues.

Thanks for hopping along with us this weekend :-)  Your next stop is Paulette's blog http://scrapalette.blogspot.com/.
