Always keep a little beach day in your heart

Hello there!  I've been playing with my Distress Oxide inks lately.  I'm obsessed.  Love the fun effects you can get by just adding water.  So cool!

I've used the Oxide ink to watercolor the stamped image, too.  Then I let it dry and then added some Ice Stickles to create an almost hidden treasure feel to the sand the wheel is stuck in under the sea.  I used Distress crayons to make the token look really old.  Fun!

I'm entering this card into the Unity Show & Tell watercolor challenge.  This is an awesome group on FB for sharing your creations using Unity Stamps.

Summer Fun!

Hello there!  I've got a simple, cute card to share with you today.  I created it and then realized the stamp kit is actually discontinued.  So that's a bummer!!

I started off using my Misti and stamping this cute image on my cardbase.  Then I used the backing from the stamp as a mask to cover the stamped image.  Then I took the stencil and Distress ink and created a pattern around the image.  It didn't look finished so I ended up adding more ink to the edges of the card.  And then I used my Zig pen and ruler to add the black frame.  Super simple and quick.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello there!  It's Father's day so I thought I would share the card I made for my dad this year.  I had a blast using some new supplies.  I love how it turned out.

I took watercolor paper and cut it to the size of my cardbase.  Then I lightly spritzed it with water.  Then I used a Tim Holtz 3-D texture fade embossing folder to add some serious dimension.  I ran this through my Cuttlebug 3 times.  Note:  since this embossing folder is so thick you only want to use 1 cutting pad.  Then I dried the paper with my heat tool.  Next I applied Distress Oxide inks and then spritzed with water to get some really cool effects.  Dried it with my heat tool.  Then I sprayed it with Distress Mica spray to add some shine.  And dried it again.  Too fun!

Recipe:
Strathmore watercolor paper
Tim Holtz 3-D Texture fade embossing folder
Ranger heat tool, spray bottle
Tim Holtz Distress Oxides - black soot, Hickory Smoke
round blending tool
Tim Holtz Distress Mica Spray - brushed pewter
Misti
Unity Stamp Co - Best Tool in the Box stamp kit
watercolor pencils

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful day today celebrating the men/dad's in your life.

Dad....You're the Best

Hello there!  I wanted to share the manly card I created for my Father-in-Law for Father's Day.

By using my Misti I was able to position several small stamps into a border to frame the sentiment.  Love my Misti!  I actually cut one of the sentiments stamps in this kit---eeeek, I know.  It's okay :-)  The full sentiment reads, "You're the Best Tool in the box".  All of that didn't fit the space I wanted it to be in-- so I snipped it.  LOL!
