CC Wkly Challenge#59: Birthday

Hello!  The challenge is to use birthday balloons as inspiration and use some string or twine in a fun way.  I created a card for my little miss for her 6th birthday.
Recipe:
Card base in white 4x9" (fits into a legal sized envelope)

Create a Critter Cricut cart - monkey @ 3 1/2"
Birthday Bash Cricut cart - balloons @ 2 1/2", '6' @ 1/2"

CB folders- swiss dot, seeing spots

The banners I just cut by hand 2x7, 2x5, 2x3.  I used the leftover scraps to  make a fun confetti look at the bottom of the card.

Pop dots, Sew Easy floss in candy stripe, glossy accents to adhere the twine strings on the balloons (I tied knots in the ends of the strings to make them appear to be atached to the balloons).

Thanks for stopping by today.  Good luck to all in this challenge!

CC Wkly Challenge # 45: Run for the Border

Why does the title on this challenge make me think Taco Bell??  LOL!  It's been a few years since I've had Taco Bell.  Maybe it's a sign...Hee..hee!  Okay, I made a Christmas card for my project.  I put the border above and below an embossed white strip of paper to create the background for my card.  I kinda like how simple this looks :-)
Recipe:
A2 card in Kraft

DCWV -Merry Christmas Stack -all patterned papers

Create a Critter Cricut cart - lights @ 2"
Elegant Edges Cricut cart - burst - border @ 5" using fit-to-lenth feature ( I cut two and put one above and one below the white embossed paper)

Cuttlebug embossing folder - snowflakes

Pop dots for the bulbs, TPC Studio stamp from the Christmas Greetings set, Oriental Trading co brads, Sew Easy Fancy floss in wintergreen & candy stripe.

I tied the bows around the post of the brad and then applied the brad as normal--so the brad is anchoring the bow to the card :-)  Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Good luck to all in this challenge!

Henry's Cake

I got another chance to play with my mini Cricut cake :-)  So fun! My little man turned 4 this week.  He's growing up so fast!!  He loves dinosaurs so this is what I did.

I used Create a Critter Cricut cart to make the dinosaur.  It's cut @5".  The letters for his name are from Robotz @1".  I realized after I cut the two layers that I probably should have just cut the green layer and then layered on a few circles instead of cutting the blue layer.  Something to think about for next time....LOL!

The finished cake.  Okay, it's not super professional but my little man was very excited about it.  Made my day :-)

MPS Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge #2: Black + your favorite color(s)

I used black, pink and white on my card.  I made this card for my future Sister-in-Law.  She recently got some very good news.  In April 2010, she was told she had cervical cancer.  So, after a 9 month battle and lots of radiation and chemo her tests came back clean.  No more cancer!!  YAY!!  I hope she likes this card!  And I hope you like it, too!

The Paper Studio -the basics stack - pink polka dot paper

Create a Critter Cricut cart- postage stamp background cut at 5", cat cut at 3"

Thanks for looking.  I love comments!

Have a great day!
